Seven Reasons You Need Engagement Photos
EEEEK you just got engaged!! The only thing brighter than that ring is the stars in your eyes. Now that you can officially start planning your wedding, you’re probably asking yourself if engagement pictures are really worth it. And believe me, I TOTALLY get it. Engagement photos can seem like one more thing to add to the list, as if there aren’t enough things to do already! But I have seven reasons why you should reconsider.
One : Engagement Gift
If I’m lucky enough to photograph your wedding, your engagement session is FREE. On the house. Courtesy of moi. The way I see it, you’ve got enough going on already, both in terms of time and finances. I don’t want you to miss out on anything during such a sweet time in your life, so this is my gift to you.
Two : Easy Wedding Day
You’ll know what to expect going into the wedding day. Posing for pictures doesn’t seem that hard when you’re sitting on the couch looking at your Pinterest board. But when that camera’s pointed at you, it can feel scary! Let me remind you that that’s totally normal. An engagement session will help alleviate a ton of that stress and will get you feeling nice and comfy in front of the camera.
Three : Variety of Pictures
You’ll have pictures of you and your partner in non-wedding clothes. Wedding photos are oh so important to have, but imagine you’re decorating your home, hanging up photos on the family room wall. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a little variety? With at least one outfit change included in your session, you’ll have a whole assortment of pictures to frame.
Four : Better Relationship with Your Photographer
You can build a relationship with your photographer. I SO want to get to know you! My goal is to make sure your personality, who you are, is captured. Spending time with you makes that easy peasy! You get to know me, you know what to expect, and we can rest assured that we’re gonna take some BOMB photos!!
Five : Photos for Wedding Planning
You have photos ready for wedding purposes. As I’m sure you’ve figured out, weddings have sooooo many details. While all of those details elevate your wedding, they can be a pain to plan. And that’s coming from someone who loves a good to-do list. You’ll probably have to check all these off: Save the date cards. Wedding websites. Thank you notes. Guest book. Wedding décor. You know what could knock all these out? Engagement photos!!!! I know, it’s shocking right? And with those details taken care of, you have more time to breathe.
Six : Date Night
Date night! Aren’t we all looking for a reason to have date night, especially if it’s with the love of your life? You get all gussied up, we can scout out a shoot location that has a cute restaurant nearby, and over dinner you two can talk about what a GREAT time you had getting your picture taken. We can even get a little crazy and pop some champagne before dinner.
Seven : The Sheer Romance of It
Engagement photos tell your love story. Engagement is worth celebrating!!!! Think about it, in the grand scheme of things, this season of having a fiancé is SO short. Don’t you just want to soak up every moment? Take every opportunity to enjoy that space between dating and marriage? When that season ends, I know you’re going to want a way to look back on it. Making lasting memories with your best friend is something I know you’ll never regret.
